The deliberate shooting of protesters in the eye during the 2022-23 protests in Iran points to particularly perfidious systematic repression. A duo of Iranian filmmakers in exile in Berlin take this as a ground line and ask the question: “What happens when security forces aim at vision itself?” Based on this, they reconstruct narratives of images taken from social media during the protests. The film presents the search in the montage process, in which the filmmakers combine their distanced, subjective narrative with the images of the protest in order to examine the power of the images of the protest as a political construct.

Growing up in a Palestinian refugee camp, 14-year-old Ali Messalam learned to hate "the Jews" from an early age. After fleeing Lebanon with his family, he arrives in Berlin Kreuzberg. Here, Ali tries to make friends with the Arab youths in the neighborhood. But first he has to prove what he can do. As a test of courage, he is asked to break into the apartment of his Jewish-Russian neighbor Alexander. The youngsters follow Ali and trash the old man's apartment to excess. They all have just one goal: they want to reach the summit. With their goal, the snow-covered Kilimanjaro, always in sight, none of them want to give up, because there is a lot at stake for everyone. Only when everything seems to be conspiring against the group do the four lone fighters learn that they can only make it to the summit together.
